Mysql connection to Filemaker Adv via ODBC both on local machine

I'm having issues connection filemaker to mysql on the same machine. Here is my setup.

I'm running MAMP on my mac os x 10.6. I'm using the the Actual ODBC driver to connect mysql to filemaker pro advanced. I am able to successfully connect a remote mysql database with filemaker on my machine. However connecting the MAMP mysql to filemaker on the same machine (locally) isn't working.

Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

Howdy,

It's been a while since I have done this on the Mac and MAMP, but here are a few items you may want to check:

1) On MAMP, the MySQL port is 8889 by default

3) MAMP default MySQL user and password are root and root

2) In the Actual ODBC Manager > Connection > Advanced Options > Socket ... enter this value (from the MAMP Start Page)

/Applications/MAMP/tmp/mysql/mysql.sock
