Print PDF with a unique name on Mac OSX

Featured Replies

Currently I print encounter sheets with FMP using the Print step. It works great, but we are now going paperless, and want to print PDFs instead. I can select Print to PDF in OSX, but it save using the same filename each time. Is there a way to automate the filename, such as using client name and date?

Why don't you use the Save Records As PDF[] script step. Then you can use a variable to specify the file path - see:

I need a lot of formatting that your suggestion does not allow. Thank you anyhow.

I need a lot of formatting that your suggestion does not allow.

For example?

I need 2 columns, same demographics on all pages at the top, and My ID at the bottom of each page.

What makes you think saving records as PDF wouldn't allow 2 columns? I am not sure what you mean by the other two, but it seems like a simple header/footer arrangement, which is also possible.

I didn't think your could use header footers, or two columns in Save Record as PDF. I tried and couldn't get it working.

I am sorry. I tried again, and it works just fine. The formatting is fine, etc. Thank you very much for that.

This will simplify things greatly!
