Newbies bfalasiri Posted August 1, 2001 Newbies Share Posted August 1, 2001 I'm looking for something that will adhere to the back of an oriental rug, either very sticky or iron on(preferable) and that might run through a laser printer. Anybody heard of such a thing?
LiveOak
You may not like the answer to this one. There are several reasons that much of the barcode business uses speciality printers, instead of laser printers. A couple are the printing of labels one at a time, availability of specialty shapes, and the availability of specialty adhesives. The stock labels available for laser printers are pretty much limited to paper and polyester. I believe that Avery makes a standard polyester plastic label for laser printers. You might try this label and see how well it works. The main problem is that you can print on a greater range of materials/adhesives with a thermal transfer printer than with a laser printer. I do believe I have seen custom printed/iron on labels. You might look for a product using one and call the manufacturer and see if you can track the process down (long shot). Also take a look at a company called Electronic Imaging Materials at www.barcode-labels.com, they have been very helpful in the past with exotic label material and adhesives. -bd
tomlepk
Why not give our sales department a call 800-874-4465 and ask for some samples of our concrete adhesive labels. Now mind you they are thermal transfer and they are a specialty item, so they are more costly but by getting a sample you can see if the adhesive is strong enough for your application. sojahseh
You might try Thermopatch, Inc. they are in Syracuse, NY their number is 315.446.8110. They make thermal adhesive labels for any number of purposes in the textile industry. They are nice people and are very knowledgeable. Hope this helps.
