When I try to open a FM file by doubleclicking on the icon,my mac tlls me that "the application that was used to create this file could not be found".

I have to run FM first to open the file.

Is there something that I could do about this (I really hope so, because I would like my computer to open the file automatically when the computer is started).

I must say that the first version of the file was made on a PC running windows 98.

This is pretty typical for files brought across from a Windows machine. It is always solved by creating a Mac copy using the FM command "Save a copy as..."

Maybe also time to rebuild desktop database.
