License error FM client when editing or modifying MirrorSync script in remote demo database

Every time I open the MirrorSync script or when I've pasted this script into FM client (with the server demo database open) I get a FileMaker Pro error dialog telling me that "The maximum number of licensed users are currently using this copy of FIleMaker Pro" .....

"All files will be closed and the application will quit". I get a chance to save what I've done but that's it.

This is happens at the last step in the database setup.

Have no clue if this is a purely FM client or server problem or if it is related to MirrorSync scripts.

Anyone familiar with this error message?

Thanks

Marc, I've had one other user report the same problem, but I've never seen it happen. Could you send me the file that it's happening with, both the "before MirrorSync" version as well as the "after MirrorSync" version?

Hi Jesse, I tried it again with the new 1.145 version that you sent me yesterday. The described problem was with the Contact Management demo file and also while I had the config utility running on the server to which I was connected via RDC.

I tried with the config utility running locally (which didn't work for me with 1.143) and the problem did not occur anymore.

So I tried again using the same method as yesterday by running the config utility on the server and copy the MirrorSync script at the last setup step via RDC client clipboard to my local machine. When I then paste the script from the clipboard into the script window the error dialog pops up again.

I guess that somehow FM (which is a 1 person license) thinks that someone else from that server machine is using the same FM Pro software (the error dialog shows the internal IP address of the server as the one that causes the conflict). So I guess that this is simply the way RDC operates and the way FM responds to such events. I could send you the before and after DB but before is simply the same as your Contact Management demo file and I doubt you can see anything from the prepped file because the problem seems to lie in the way FM/Remote Desktop clipboard pasting functions.

Anyway, now the normal method is working the problem doesn't occur so for me the problem is resolved.

... I did find that once this error occurred it did have a permanent effect on the remote database.

Somehow, everytime I open the remote database and go into Manage Script, select the MirrorSync script and click Edit the screen shows me the script up until the comment #Dummy call to remote table, the rest of the script is not visible and the dialog is shown. When dismissing that dialog the rest of the script is visible (first line being the "Perform Script [....]" for a brief moment and then FM quits.

This does not happen if I download the remote database and then open it in FM. I'll attach a screenshot.

If you think it's still useful to attach a copy of the prepped database let me know.
