Two tables in Rel Diagram - can't delete the relationship

Featured Replies

Boy, I'm making a lot of rookie mistakes with this project...

I have several tables - joined with relationships - mostly one-to-many. Somehow I am unable to "break" any of my relationships!

On the rel diag, I double click on the "=" sign that dwells on the line between the related fields. The Edit Relationship dialog box appears, shows the two tables and the associated fields left and right in each, I hit "Delete", the line showing the two fields erases but the box stays up. "OK" never lights up and the only way out is "Cancel". Double-click again and the relationship that disappeared has reappeared. I brought the Edit panel up again and unticked "Create records..." Same deal. I focused on just two tables and actually took the two fields out of each table. And now the Rel Diag shows the link line at the top of each TO with a small | at either end. Double click the "=" sign which is still there and now I have two <unknown> values sitting where the fields used to show.

I know this is going to caused problems later on. How do I "break" these relationships in the rel diag? Is it because there is a relationship being used further down the line which is blocking these from being released?

Oh, crap! It's the little trashcan icon in the Rel Graph...... Geeezzz!

Sorry folks...

Or simply highlight (single click) the table occurrence or box with "=" and hit delete!
