Base64Encode not working on FileMaker 12 container fields

It encodes but not the file. When I use an online decoder the decoded result is below instead of encoding the actual contents of the container:

 

 

remote:ThePDFName.pdf
FILE:FMFileName/FieldName/ThePDFName.pdf

The Base64 Encoding sample module in ScriptMaster does not currently support container fields.
