December 30, 201213 yr There seems to be a strong rumour that Google is about to make a move for the desktop with it's Chrome OS. Whether or not this is imminent it seems inevitable. Android is already the dominant OS. Here: http://www.zdnet.com/2012s-top-five-linux-stories-with-one-big-conclusion-7000009190/ it is reported that Android already has 45% of the consumer market. Apple, Google, and Microsoft seem to be locked into a battle for dominance and it appears that Windows 8 may be about to seal Microsoft's fate. So, if this happens, when will Filemaker respond and look to satisfy that market with a versions of its products? When I posed a similar question regarding ARM based Windows 8 the idea that Filemaker would be restrained by its owner, Apple, was rejected. Would that be the case with Chrome OS?
December 31, 201213 yr Wait a minute. Android has 0% of the desktop/laptop OS market share. Regardless of popularity on mobile devices, Android / Chrome has a Long steep climb before making a dent in the desktop market. I think your question is, um, premature.
