Exporting a text field as a mac apfloc link

The link below is stored as a text field in FM and I now need to export field contents to an .apfloc so that the export file can be double clicked to open the appropriate project folder.

 

When I do this however it says that the files is damaged. If I export it without the file extension .afploc, double clicking the file just opens a text doc.

 

Any ideas?

I have no experience with afp. Perhaps the problem is with the UTF-16 encoding you get when you export field contents?
