Plucky Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Hi I Have just installed Filemaker v10.0.3 on a new MacBook pro running 10.8 and found I can see my hosted server but no available hosts. I have other computers accessing the available databases on the network fine but they are running filemaker v9.0.3 and OS 10.5 The FM Server Advanced is version 9.0.2.151 Any ideas
Karsten Wolf Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Have you checked your firewall settings? At least port 5003 must be open for FileMaker. See http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6427/kw/ for ports that apply to your configuration.
Wim Decorte Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 That FMS9 is now 4 generations old.. not sure if it can be expected to run well on 10.8... one thing to try since you can actually see the host: in the open remote, type in the full fmnet path to one of the hosted files to see if you can open it Alos, back on the FMS machine, can you verify that the files are actually open and hosted?
Plucky Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 Its ok now. I copied the 'server.pem' file from the 'Show package contents' of Filemaker Pro v9.03 on another networked mac and placed it in my Filemaker Pro Advanced packaged contents and it work. Filemaker Pro.app --> Show Package Contents --> Contents --> Mac OS / server.pem Thanks for your help.
Steven H. Blackwell Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 As Wim suggests, you can expect more anomalies running such an old version as Server 9 on a new OS. Server 9 is officially EOL. it is no longer supported by FMI. Steven
