Self join relationship question

Featured Replies

I think that what I am trying to do should be really easy, and I am missing something obvious. Any help or input is appreciated.

I have a table of names and addresses, with an additional field for a code. The code is a always a single letter.

I am trying to identify duplicate addresses, and all of their associated codes. The records may have from zero to 9 duplicates. So, if "John Doe 123 Main St" is in the file 4 times with codes A,F,J, and I. I want to set a field in each of those records with "AFJI" either through a calc field or a script.

I created a concatenation of name and address to use as a key, then created a new TO and a self join based on that key.

What's next? Is there some obvious way to grab all the codes from the related records and put them in a field? What am I missing / forgetting / being obtuse about?

Nevermind. List function. I am dumb.

Yeah you can create a Timestamp field setting it at on record creation.....

And at the self relationship of the TOs sort by ascending timestamp field...

And set a calculation field for showing "duplicate"(flag field) if there primary key matches of the related tables.. :)
