Anyway to disable a field on layout ..

Hello... 

 

I have build a layout with 15 field dynamically, both titles and the data field.

 

However.. sometime these 15 fields are not always used.. the remainder  fields are blank

 

Still in my layout Tabbing through... ALL these field still exist

 

I can hide them no problem using a Condition, if  a certain field is empty

 

But when data entering.. its still there.. I can tab down these blanks..

 

Is there any way to disable the field from a GET?

Fields cannot be removed from a layout programatically. Your description is a bit misleading, "build a layout with 15 field dynamically." What does that mean?

 

Your description suggests a poorly designed data model.

... Always my problem.. trying to explain this *******.... I am just not as well written as you all... have no degrees, learn this by hacking... and the many years i been around here.. nor would I hire myself out making $100 bucks an hour like you all.. . Its always hard trying to explain my problem, but do the the best I can.. Thanks for suggesting my poor designs..  But there is always more or less better ways... to do something, often times, its not easy,,  Persistent and time playing asking for thoughts ideas etc,  so thanks again all for help through the years.... i always get things to work..

 

My app never crashes, it does what its intended to do, is user friendly, maybe not as elegant as others,  I often rewritten, as I continue learning something new everyday..

 

 

The attached image has a blue box with several client custom inputted  or garbage fields  (for test)

 

The popup screen has 9 titles and fields laid down to "favorite hobby"

  

The remaining 6 titles and  fields are blank    I HOPED TO HIDE OR not be tab into.

 

In this case Admin operator only fills in the first 9 fields..   not needing to enter remaining fields,

 

And my question again,  was hoping someway to disable operator tabbing into blank not used fields   .. NOT necessary be removed em.

 

I build the popup screen with these tiles and fields built on the fly... adding a data field for operator to collect the data .

 

The client often only uses less...  than the 15 possible fields and titles i allow.

 

I called this ...Dynamically, because I build the laydown on the fly,  or the popup screen layout

 

Sure I can create 15 layouts and go that way.. and thats often whats done because of the quirkiness of FM

 

I just thought maybe there ways a better way...   other than,  count the users fields and create 15 layouts
