Need a sum from a summarized subsummary

Once again, a royal brain hernia trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

 

Please refer to, and open, the attached; go to the Report xAbsenceCount layout. I have one faux student's record in the mix, but the real file will have many different students, sorted by last name then first name.

 

What I'm having trouble with is getting a total from the summarized second column of numbers, which should equal 9.0. I've tried using GetSummary, Sum, some creative sub-summary'ing of fields...nada.

 

What do I need to fix to get the Att_Date2__lcn field to show a summarized total? I just know I'm going to slap myself in the forehead once I'm told what the problem is, so I have a hat ready to hide the mark.

Without looking at your example - remember getsummary still needs a sort to get the correct answer

Also, without looking at your example, and just the thumbnail.

? - That usually indicates that the field is not wide enough to show what is in the field.
