Java 7 not compatable with SC 2.864 on OS X 10.7 x and Above

Max OS X 10.8.2

SC Version 2.864

If you start out with a clean install, or a new machine with Mac OS X 10.7 and above, No Java is pre-installed. And Java updates are no longer supported by Apple. So you must go the the Oracle web site and download Java 7 Update 13.

If you have the Supercontainer plugin installed you will see the following error when you open Filemaker, "To open "FileMaker Pro," you need a Java SE 6 runtime. Would you like to install one now?".

If you pick yes, it will fail. If you try manually, you will get a error message stating that it requires OS X 10.6.

If you upgrade from Java 6 to 7, it will work, due to Java SE still being present in /system/library/java..

Any ideas..?

When you say "it will fail" when trying to install the Java SE 6 runtime, what do you mean? Is there a dialog that pops up? Or is there some kind of crash? Could you include a screenshot?

Also, what error message do you see when trying to manually install Java SE 6?

If you pick yes, it will give you the error that the file does not exists.

f you try manually, you will get a error message stating that it [requires OS X 10.6] and therefore will not install.
