AndriesV Posted May 30, 2001 Share Posted May 30, 2001 I had a similar issue and attacked it using a case calculation, by now 99% of the email addresses in our database are at least not wrong because of illegal characters or wrong formatting. Whenever I find a new frequent mistake in data entry I add another case step. - - validation calculation - - If(IsEmpty(EmailField), 1, Case( PatternCount(EmailField," ")>0, 0, PatternCount(EmailField,",")>0, 0, PatternCount(EmailField,";")>0, 0, PatternCount(EmailField,":")>0, 0, PatternCount(EmailField," Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
