I am new here and was not sure where to post this, so here goes...

I want to run an Excel macro from Filemaker

I know how to use 'Send Event' to open the file

I believe I need to use 'Send DDE Execute' to run the macro in the Commands area, but I do not know the syntax.

Can anyone help please?

Hi Skee, and welcome to the forum,

Please do not hijack an existing topic when your question has nothing to do with the tread.

The proper thing to do, is to search the Forum for your keywords and see if there isn't an existing thread covering your question. I you can not locate one, then start a new topic in an appropriate topic area.

If you have any questions about this action, please contact me by Private Message.

Don't bother with Execute DDE, it's very old and dead technology.  You may be able to find syntax tips on the MS website and if you do, feel free to use it.  But I would stay away from it.

A better approach is to use either powershell or VBscript, put the syntax together from inside FM and then use the Send Event script step to execute it.
