August 27, 201312 yr I have a pop-up menu that displays standard ad sizes for specific publications. "Allow Entry of Other Values" is activated so that users can put in a special size when appropriate. If someone puts in an "Other" value all is fine. However it seems that this disables the value list for that record. i.e. if someone enters an "Other"value and then changes their mind and wants to use one of the standard ad sizes from the value list, it can't be done except by typing the name in the "Other" dialogue box. This is not effective if the user wants to review the available options. Is there a way to ensure that if the "Other" value is deleted, the original pop-up menu is restored.
August 27, 201312 yr Would a drop-down list be acceptable? That makes it easier to enter other values by just hitting the Esc key. Another idea, you could put a little "clear" button next to the field.
August 28, 201312 yr Author In most cases where I've used drop down lists it's where being on that list is part of the validation process. You're right it works fine. It's easy to get so focussed on what you CAN'T do that you forget to look around for other ways. Thanks
