remove text from text field that matches another text field

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a field called "remove" and this field contains words that I want removed exactly from another field called "Sentence"

I would like to have a calculation to remove the contents from the field "Remove" from the text field "Sentence"

Thanks

Substitute( Sentence; remove; "")

@ doughemi

The "remove" field contains words !

Aha, as in separated words!  Didn't occur to me that they might be non-contiguous.

hartmut, are the words in a single phrase, or scattered about the Sentence field?

In a single phrase

In a single phrase

Then my calculation will work.  If it weren't so, then the calculation would have to be considerably more complex, as Raybaudi implies.
