Barry685 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I have several container fields that link to images by reference. I'm using Fm Server 13 installed with Microsoft server 2008 R2. When connecting through the desktop (with fm12) I see the images, but when I try to access them through Fmgo, all i see in the container field is the path.
Wim Decorte Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Typically what this means is that the path to the images can not be resolved by the FM client (FM Go in this case). Where are the images? In a shared folder on the network?
Barry685 Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 They are on a 2nd drive on the server (not on the OS drive) in a shared folder that is mapped as "W".
Wim Decorte Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 FM Go has no concept of a "mapped drive", that's a Windows thing and iOS is a completely different operating system. It's one of the reasons to never use container data "by references" and use the "remote container" feature.
Barry685 Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Thanks I will switch over to a remote container when I have the chance.
Wim Decorte Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I recently wrote a blog post on how to do it easily: http://www.soliantconsulting.com/blog/2014/01/references-embedded-container-data
Barry685 Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 I will study your article, but I'm not using fm13
