Just a quickie...if I have defined the path for container storage to be files/whateverthetablenameis do those items get moved automagically when I upload a file to FMS or do I need to do some FTP stuff ? Can't see how to do that, btw...

When you use the FMS upload feature, FM will also transfer over the externally stored container data.  There have been issues reported with large amounts of data.  If you run into that you can use the "save as - self contained" feature and then transfer that file, and re-enable remote container storage once the file is on the server
