I notice that the forum software has become very proactive in preventing vertical spacing. For example, it will not let me open a new section after giving a code example:

This is an entirely different section and ideally I would want to have at least two empty lines between it and the preceding text. Like I can when it's text sections only (see immediately below).

 

 

The other thing is that if I mistakenly put two   or more consecutive spaces in the text, they are not merged into one. IMHO, these two behaviors should be reversed.

Bump. Any progress expected on this?

I am hoping later this summer at the next site software upgrade. 

got some beta testers for that OW?

when the developers release the beta, then i will duplicate the forum database and create an duplicate of the site and invite a few to kick the tires. But its a duplicate so it will not be a live system, but more of a sandbox. And on final release or just before if there is an upgrade path from beta I'll upgrade the live site.
