I have a value list that is based on field in a table (Attachment 1).

 

When I set the field type that uses the value list to Pop-up the field displays the Name and stores the Contact ID as required.  However, when i set the field as Drop-down the field displays the Contact ID.  Is there any other way than stacking the Name on top of the Contact ID with the field set as a Drop-down?

well since you are using FMP 13....

 

You could use the new PopOver Object that is formatted to looks like  a field but opens a popover that has a field used to filter a portal with clever tabbing objects or script triggers you could make it behave like a drop down list but still allow you to navigate with the keyboard.
