Jason Mundok Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Using the latest release of MirrorSync (2.1) and trying to sync container fields from an iPad [FMG13]. Taking photos on the ipad into one or two container fields on each record. Everything indicates that the sync occurs without error. The sync even slows down when showing an image is being uploaded. The containers are stored locally within the database. The photos never show up in the host. Any thoughts or others seeing similar behavior?
Jesse Barnum Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Hey Jason, I'll take a look - just send me your log files and I'll check it out.
amallison Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I have the same issue. I'm using a Win FMSv12 with MirrorSync 2.1 with FMGo13 on an iPhone. The first 2 times in development testing it didn't sync but then it came good. Today I went to show the client and it didn't work. I was trying to send a signature back to the server. Any suggestions? This has great potential to be an awesome product once this is resolved. andrew
Jesse Barnum Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I figured out the problem with the container downloading. It occurs when a container field is inserted by FileMaker Go 13 connected as a guest of FileMaker Server 12. There is a bug in FMS that prevents these items from being published using the XML Web Publishing Engine, which is used by MirrorSync. I've documented this bug and reported it to FileMaker: http://forums.filemaker.com/posts/8d3a4548bd. FileMaker verified in a linked report that this is a bug. The easiest and best solution is to enable xDBC on the FileMaker Server. If this is enabled, MirrorSync will automatically switch to using this instead of the XML Web Publishing Engine for retrieving containers. To do this, make sure it's enabled on the server itself, and then also make sure that each user who will be syncing has the fmxdbc extended privilege enabled. Other solutions: * Upgrade server to FileMaker Server 13. That does not have the same bug. * Don't connect as a guest of FMS with the iPads, only have them sync instead (the bug does not occur when inserting containers via sync, only when directly connected as a guest)
