Syncing FMP with iCal using Apple script

Is it possible, using AppleScript, to have changes made in FMP reflected in iCal the instant they are made?  Much like Apple sync services.  IF so what am I overlooking here.

I'm able to exchange data between the 2 apps.  No Problem.  I'd like to know how to trigger a script that will sync the two apps once a Change in Filemaker occurs.  (w/o user intervention)

Sync the data between the two apps on the same machine or different devices? Most Apple sync these days happens using iCloud and I'm not sure if it's possible to get FileMaker to access this.

I have a "unidirectional" sync from my FM-Solution to iCal or Outlook calendar. It is based on resources I've found on FileMakerHacks:

http://filemakerhacks.com/2010/12/13/exporting-data-to-ical-outlook-google-calendar-etc/

though this is a tool to

- sync from FM-to-iCal/Outlook

- not vize-versa

- 3 different routines. one require TROI FilePlugIn, one is built on virtualList, …

- dates you delete in your FM-Solution must be manually deleted in iCal/Outlook

- Calendar type (Private, Business, Project A, …) has to be determined manually with every sync

With same resources, I've built a routine though Therapists can send Email invitations with .ics File att. to theirs patients
