Execute sql statement on an ODBC connection

Hi, I'm a FP newbee, forced to learn this by my boss.

I have set up a system DSN with FP ODBC driver, then I wrote a test Perl script to try to open a table and print content to screen.

The sql looks like this: SELECT * FROM [specialists_Database.FP5]

returned error is: Error: "-151[FileMaker][ODBC FileMaker Pro driver][FileMaker Pro]Connect failed10"

Could anybody see the posible problem here? Thanks.

I don't know if this will work, but try leaving the ".fp5" off the database name.

Is the database you are accessing Local or Remote?

If local make sure you have the Local Data Access companion running under Plugins.

If Remote make sure you have the Remote Data Access companion running under Plugins.

also are you running Windows or Mac??
