I have been asked to create a database that allows users on a WAN to transfer files via FileMaker. The files are going to be relatively small files 50K or smaller. One end of the process is going to enter a job number and other info and then attach the txt file to that record. The other end will find the job number they need to work and then detach the txt file. I have FM Server 5.5 running on a mac. Is this possible in FM or do I need a plug-in.

Forgot to mention that the files that I am transfering are text files. I have however discovered a way to use Troi's File plugin in to import the data from a text file into a field and then export it back out. I would still like to know if there is a way to transfer an actual txt file without importing the contents into a field.

Each text field has capacity 64K for text data.

Container can hold all sorts of multimedia files.
