constance_park Posted November 8, 2001 Posted November 8, 2001 Hello Everyone, we have a Windows 2000 workstation with 1 GB RAM and 30GB hard drive that we have tried to installe FileMaker 5.5 Pro on. After the install, when trying to open FileMaker, we do not get anything. IF you look in Task Manager, the filemaker executable is running but nothing comes on the screen. Has anyone ran into this before? Thanks in advance, Constance
Anatoli Posted November 9, 2001 Posted November 9, 2001 Which service pack? If you are not using sp2 run for it!
DykstrL Posted November 9, 2001 Posted November 9, 2001 If it is a Dell or DTK computer, this is the same problem that version 5.0v3 has with these machines: Newer Dell computers and some DTK Computers, pre-installed with Windows 2000 may not be able to run FileMaker Pro 5.0v3 or 5.5v1. There is a conflict with integrated Yamaha Synthesizer driver, Riptide PCI Audio or a Creative SB Audio PCI driver. A work-around is to uninstall the Yamaha-XG Synth Program Group. FileMaker should then work correctly. This problem does not seem to affect computers that have been upgraded from Windows 98 or Windows NT. Go to: http://www.filemaker.com/support/techinfo.html and find tech article number 107071 for more details. [ November 09, 2001: Message edited by: dykstrl ]
