Layout Quirk - cant move objects right of margin

Wondering if anyone else finds this really frustrating:  when working with any layout wider than the printable area, I cannot move an object outside the print margins with the mouse.  I have to use the right arrows, and that is so slow!

 

 

Can you provide a video or something because I don't seem to have the same experience.
