Set Variable {Field} from URL

Much in the same way that the Insert from URL script step works - a script step that allows you to set a variable from URL would be really nice.  This way the field would not have to be on the layout (as it does with Insert from URL).  You could even have a Set Field from URL.

 

I did submit this to Filemaker

    Yeh I agree... I used the free ScriptMaster plugin to set a variable from an HTTP request.
