Move between tab panels without commiting a record

Featured Replies

is it possible to move to a new tab panel without without the data entered in the first panel being commited.

moving between tabs itself - by clicking on a tab - does not commit a record.  Are you doing this in a script? Or do you have a trigger on the tab panel?  If so can you post the script?  Something in the script makes the record commit but it is not the act of going to a new tab.

Thank you, I had not tried as I understood that selecting any part of a layout outside a field would commit the record and I wanted to avoid that

Clicking on many objects does not commit, things like another tab, a web viewer ...

Clicking on the background does.

I knew about the Web Viewer trick as I had used that before but not about the Tab Panel. Thank you for your help
