Import increases file size out of proportion

Featured Replies

I've noticed something weird when importing data into my database file.

Not so strangely enough, it increases in file size... What is strange, is that this has happened a few times, previously I reimported one field for all of the data (1mil records) which was previously already in there, it had just been manipulated in some and wanted to revert it back to an older one. This process increased the file size by 100 mb or so from before the import.

I also noticed an increase of around 200mb after importing just 200 records, which do not contain any container data or anything.

Is it normal for an import to increase the file size in this manner?

With that many records, I'd say it's normal. Field indexes can add up.

You might try saving a compacted copy just for fun.
