Make a scripts that calls the OpenURL step, for the email address, make a calculation fields that does:

"mailto:"&emailField

Then make the OpenURL use that field for the URL.

Next for the field you want to click for the email, use the Specify Button option and make it perform the script you just made.

I understand and have done the first step

Why not just use the Send Mail script step?

OK. I found

OK, the sendmail feature

Once you select this in your script step, you click on the specify option.

this gives you the choice to use a fields value in the To, the CC , the subject and the message body.

So, if you want to send to an email address from the current record, select the To field value and specify the email field in your database.

Add any other information that you wish to use in the sendmail feature.

Now, when you apply this script to a button in your database, it will open a new draft message in your email application.
