Calculating Selected Items in a Portal Row

Featured Replies

I have a database where products are selected by use of a portal. These products can be selected by item, carton or by square metre. The product database has different fields for each of these values, and are entered correctly in the portal database by a relationship.

I would like to total all the items with the square metre type selected, normally I use the sum function but it adds everything in the portal row, and Iam struggling making a selective sum.

Example

product1 M

How about you create a calculation field in your products database

If ( Type = "m2", value field here, "")

Then use this field to sum off of.

Alternatively, if you want to make this more dynamic in that you want to change what you total, then create a global field in your main database _gProductType

Then use this in your calculation via a constant relationship

If ( ConstantRelationship::_gProductType = Product Type, value field here, "")
