Cannot copy my own text

When composing a post, I am unable to copy any text from within the text box.

could be a browser issue - however i added some buttons to the editor ribbon.

Using the button, I get  this warning:

Your browser security settings don't permit the editor to automatically execute copying operations. Please use the keyboard for that (Ctrl/Cmd+C).

As you can see, I was able to copy that. But if I try to take the advice given and use the keyboard, nothing happens.

does this behavior happen on other browsers? 

I had to empty the cache on my browser the other day in order for the editor to behave.

It happens with Firefox, but not with Safari. Clearing the cache does not help.
