fishtech Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Hi, I'm just working through MirrorSync configuration walkthrough at http://docs.360works.com/index.php/MirrorSync_configuration_walkthrough The document states: "Be sure to remove any summary fields, related fields, global fields, and calculations unless they are read only while implementing a one-way sync. An easy way to tell would be looking for a green hourglass in layout mode- if it doesn’t have one; it’s a summary field." Perhaps this should this read (at least for FileMaker 14): "Be sure to remove any summary fields, related fields, global fields, and calculations unless they are read only while implementing a one-way sync. An easy way to tell would be looking for a green or yellow magnifying glass icon in layout mode. If it doesn’t have one the field should be removed from the sync layout.' Also, why does the above paragraph include the specific phrase "while implementing a one-way sync"? Should these field types be included on the layout when doing bi-directoinal syncs? Thanks, ft.
Jesse Barnum Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Hi, thanks for pointing this out. This documentation is very old and obsolete, I didn't realize that anything even linked to it anymore. We will remove references to this page in our docs. To address your specific point, MirrorSync 2 no longer requires you to remove these fields - it will automatically skip them.
fishtech Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 OK, thanks. I just googled and it came up.
