I am going to insert a file. When the folder opens up, What i want is the filepath based on the text on the field i entered. Sorry my grammar i hope you understand.

This is the explanation.

The source of the data for this field is the client matter folder identified in the file path field. I want to be able to click on the field eltt, have a menu come up Cut, Copy,
Paste ... Insert file, and when I click on insert file it opens in the in the file path field and can insert a reference to the
the eletter template in that folder

Sorry, I'm still unclear of your process. I see you are just starting out using FileMaker, so you might want to take a few courses, you probably discover that what you want to do can be accomplish using this such as  calculations, Scripts Open File, Open URL, etc.
