Newbies King Pure Water Posted February 23, 2016 Newbies Share Posted February 23, 2016 I also have the same question. I just started adding data to my starting point file and I do not want to lose a weeks worth of data entered. What is the proper procedure to update. I do have some fields I have added and modified and do not want to lose those either. And finally, I am working on an iMac to change fields add fields etc and the actual data is being added at an office. What procedure do I need to do in order to make field changes and not lose all the data that has been added
Richard Carlton
Hi guys, So FileMaker Inc is aware of the need to migrate versions of databases together... without all the copying and pasting of scripts and layouts etc. Basically... no easy way...yet... with FileMaker. Its high on their list of stuff to address. https://youtu.be/L1ExQlBWrnc - RC
Newbies Navigator Posted March 2, 2016 Author Newbies Share Posted March 2, 2016 Richard, thanks for the reply. I like the new lay out. For the time being an export - import (Excel) work around will work. Hope you guys works something out in the future. I'll keep in mind this is free software and you guys have to earn a living......
