  1. Hi all.. I have filemaker database hosted in with a filemaker server 11..The database in accessible when in the office network and since the filemaker server 11 doesn't not allow Instant Web Publishing..... I was wondering how i could be able to access the database when it other networks other than when in the office...i.e i want users to be able to access the database even from home...
  2. hi John... my database is not incorporated with php...would the users need to have filemaker installed into their computers before they can open the database... Since it is a small database...is there away that i can easily incorporate php..i have no much knowledge in php thanks
  3. Hi... I want to host my filemaker database with a selected host company...but i was advice to incorporate my database with php so that it would be accessible via web browsers/....i don't want to rebuild the database...any suggestion what i can do.... If i host the database without having it written with php...would users not be able to view the database via web browser... Thanks
  4. Hey John... I have had a look at your site..but am just curious..when i host this database with you guys...how would my users access it...Is it through a domain name..the database is just naked from Filemaker...
  5. Hi all.. Sorry if this is not where i should have posted this.. I am looking for a know site/company with good reputation at hosting filemaker databases...Any one with an idea please fill me in... Quick Question....When hosting a database...do i get a domain name that when entered in the url takes me to my database???
  6. For instance...i have two users..one with privilege to view the edit button and another without...how would i identify them at login so that i can direct them to different layouts??
  7. Thanks bcooney for the assistance.....in the first comment about hiding buttons....Ideally users with now privileges to edit should not be able to see the edit button, david any idea how i could use this onrecordload script trigger because i believe with privileges set, users have to be identified at login
  8. Hello people... I have a database that has two levels of privileges..those who can view the edit and delete buttons and those who can not view the edit and delete buttons.... I would like those who are not privileged to edit and delete, once they login...these buttons should not be visible to them while those with the privileges can view the buttons... Another issue is...I noticed that when people login..they can view the records previously entered which still remain in the fields..i wonder how to automatically have empty fields once a form is loaded....I tried script trigger on layout load that requests new records but this automatically adds empty records if a user doest wish to add records... Thanks guys in advance
  9. below are three layout first one called Tracking activities form where users input there information...the second one is a report layout that holds the required information when report is generated...and the third one is a reporting tool that allows a users to select what report he wants and date range which then would check and display all the records in the report layout....but am not sure how to exactly do this..with the scripting.... Please assist <removed link> My idea is when a user has keyed in all the information in the form and save...he can go to the reporting tool layout and have a drop down list with all the reports names...and can choose date range and when presses find report...he is taken to the report layout showing the particular report he/she is interested in and within the date range....and if possible all the information to be in one single report.... . thanks in advance.
