  1. FYI it is an external function -- Web Client Name will let you auto enter the username of the person who created the record online.
  2. I know that I am not supposed to use a text field to relate tables. But if I am using a unique, single term, is it possible or will I still run into problems?
  3. Is it possible to get FMP to perform a find, generate a report and email the report to an individual? Is it possible to generate a report and email only certain parts based on the subsummary sort? Thanks
  4. Does anyone know of a way, once a user has logged in with a username and password, to have their personal info (i.e. name, dept, phone, etc) automatically entered on a web form? I am trying to automate data entry via the Web and being able to "access" the username would be really helpful. I don't want them to have to enter their info repeatedly. I'd appreciate any suggestions or advice. Thanks.
  5. Thanks for your replies. I knew that the calculation field option was not an option owing mostly to the fact that my records will be quite large. I DO in fact require this field as I am designing a searchable database for archival descriptions and if it is not possible to search for a term that could conceivably appear in anyone of say ten fields in anyone of ten tables, I am not offering a very searchable option. Given this info, has anyone done something similar? In other words, the search is performed in a number of fields in a number of tables and then only the relevant part of the hierarchy is displayed to the user.
  6. Glad to hear that it _is_ possible. What would be the most elegant way to script it?
  7. Is there anyway to get FileMaker Pro to search every field in every related database for a term/word? It is something I have been able to do with other database programs and need to be able to do with FileMaker. Has anyone done this kind of thing successfully?
