Hey there! The G4 I talked about has 256 Megs of RAM. The system is very responsive and quick. But there has never been any significant traffic so far. We use the box mainliy as a NetBoot server. Cheers, Ron

Dear all: I am facing the following problem: I am setting up a www-interface using CDML for the first time. I get the behavior I want, and everything works fine. But there's one big question: In the CDML reference, I cannot find any tags that allow authentication of users using the FM-database built-in access privileges. Any ideas? Cheers, Ron

Dear all: I would like to use the custom web publishing features of FM Pro Unlimited, using CDML. However, I am unable to find a reference of CDML Tags on the FM site (I always get errors when trying to search the tech info knowledge base). Could anyone refer me to a source? Also, does anyone know of a good CDML-tutorial? I don't seem to be able to find anything of that sort as part of the FM Pro Unlimited electronic documentation. No, I haven't. But I played with a demo of Tenon Intersystems' iTools, which implements SSL. It seemed to work well. But it's expensive. Cheers, OSXS

Thanks for the hint! I have read a little bit, and it seems, that I need FileMaker Developer to work with CDML. Is this the case, or are there work-arounds? Any help would be appreciated! Cheers, OSXS

Hello all: Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I haven't found an answer to the problem so far. Here it is: I have a db created in FMP 5, and its shared as Entry Only in the Web Companion. In IE 5 and 4 on Mac and Win, the Entry Only layout works. On Netscape (Mac, Win I haven't tried yet) I get a short attempt to build the Entry Only layout, wich terminates prematurely, and then builds a List View layout, which allows full manipulation of the data. This is exactly what I don't want!! I need a 'data drop box' without further access to data for web users. The described problem occurs when connecting to FMPro Unlimited directly, or when connecting via FMWSC on OSXS. Any hints would be highly appreciated! Cheers, and look out for OSX! Hey there! I used to think the same until this morning. If you rigidly follow the instructions about a manual install in the config.txt file, it will work. I'm running OSXS 1.2 on a G4/450 with developer package installed. Hope this helps!
