  1. Problem solved! Re-installed Mac OS and FMSA. All works well now. There was nothing wrong with my database files. And it really did not take long to do this.
  2. I wanted to see if WPE could publish any of the databases via IWP. That is why I enabled fmiwp in the file. None of my databases were published but the example one included with FMSA does publish. It seems there is something wrong with my databases. I opened a database and did a "Save a copy as...". Figuring this may fix something. Unforturnated it did not. Also I do have fmxslt enabled in the relevant privilege set.
  3. I just upgraded from FMSA 7 to FMSA 8. I can load custom web pages such as search.xsl, add.xsl, etc. The problem is none will perform a search or addition to the databases. Furthermore none are visible in /fmi/config. FMSA shows it is connected to the Web Publishing Engine. All database files work properly when I connect remotely to FMS via FMP client. Each database has an account with an extented priviledge set with fmxslt assigned. I assigned fmiwp to see if this would make files visible and it did not. File ownership and permissions I feel are correct. Is there anything else I should look at?
  4. Create sub folders within xslt-template-files to keep things organized.
  5. Are the xsl files in a folder named 'xslt-template-files'? It is a folder created by installation of FM Server advanced.
  6. You said it well. I could do CDML but xsl is difficult. It seems the manual is loaded with stuff that does not get me anywhere. One common problem I had with the CDML converter is it fails to create a functional page if the original page has even the slightest error in its code. After carefully examining and fixing my original pages I was able to convert them to functional xsl pages. I have several solutions. This one I made with site assistant. It looks dull like it was make with site assitant, http://greenhouse.ucdavis.edu/accessions/ Another was converted from CDML, http://greenhouse.ucdavis.edu/fmi/xsl/tour/default.xsl I can send you a copy of one of these if it could help.
  7. Bryan, I see you have solved the pop up list problem. I am having the same problem. How did you get it to work?
  8. Try using tell application "FileMaker Pro" launch end tell I had problems using "tell application "Finder" to open file "<filemaker file>". I am not sure how to get your specific FileMaker file to open. I think this can be set in the opening dialogue of FileMaker.
  9. This is day number 11 for running FMU 6 on Panther. No stability problems. Restarted once for a security update and another time to complete a software installation. I am so happy!
  10. I have FMU v6 running on Panther since last Friday. It so far has solved the instability problem. There has been no failures since Friday. Prior to this FMU was running on 10.2.8 FMU and would fail every 24-36 hours.
  11. Panther appears to be the answer for Macintosh. Last Friday I upgraded our server from Jaguar to Panther. There have yet to be any problems! Prior to this FileMaker Unlimited v6 would stop responding after 36 hours or sometimes sooner.
  12. Ben, Have you found an answer? I too would like to use FM Web Server Connector on MacOSX without purchasing MacOSX Server.
  13. This is the same type of problem earlier on this forum. It is titled 'FMU Unexpectantly quitting' at http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB5&Number=52499&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 I have been having the same problem as you after upgrading to FMU 6. I am using a Mac. The processor is pegged at 100%. FMU still functions but is extremely slow. I reload FMU daily to fix it. I never had any problems with FMU 5.5 and am considering downgrading to FMU 5.5
  14. What is the OS of the server you were having problems with? And what is the one you moved to? I am having very similar problem after upgrading to FM Unlimited 6 on Mac OS 10.2.4. Approximately every 36 hours the server stops serving.
  15. Has anyone seen a solution to this? I recently upgraded FMU 5.5 to FMU 6 on OS 10.2.4 and now FMU fails every 1-2 days. Prior to this there were no problems. When this happens FMU becomes extremely slow and the processor is at maximum. Of course FMU is using nealy all of the processor.
