Hi, I am struggling with a field calculation. I have a field "date of next review" and I want to make it a calculation field, so when ever a person edits a record and the auto input command inputs the " date of modification", It automatically calculates the "Date of next review". Say 2 month from the modification day. Thanks in advance for all help. Jaime

HI Garry, Hi Turansky, I think I found the error. I verified that the form contained all the fields that I wanted to be displayed in the web form and it was there. I think the problem was with the cdml tags which for some reason I chose the field static display. thanks a lot, Jaime

Hi, I have configured a homepage which takes the user directly to a page where he/she can input information. This is the "Add new record" function over the web. When I hit submit an error message appears: " Data Entry error: Your attempt to edit a record failed because of the following unknown error number 102". thanks in advance to any body that could help me. Hi Garry, I could finally use the cdml tool. Although with some trouble in the final steps. The browswer displayed all the info, but when submitting an error message pops out, "The format file "path-to-file/newreply.htm" could not be found.", in which newreply.htm is my response page after submitting the record. I am a novice in programming. Probably I am missing something very abvious here. thanks Jaime

Hi Garry, Hi other helpfull people, I downloaded the cdml kit and openned it in the FM unlimited web folder. The cdml reference and tools seem to be fm files at first but would not open with FM 5 or 5.5 so i oppened them with notepad. It seemed like some kind of code but it was really messy, messy. I came to the point were I was thinking about the process and three things were in my mind, the fm server, the fm unlimited, and the ISP. NOW the big question is how?? Like Kulmansan stated "I thouhgt some how I was going to run the database from my computer" using FM unlimited. I am thinking the same. Things I know: 1. I am running unlimited in a win2k, using web companion I can view the DB over the internet, port 80, I have a static IP 2. I have a site hosted by an ISP with static pages. 3. I can design my pages using a web design software and cdml codes. Dream weaver 4. I want to make the link from the users browsing and inputting data through a browser to the final stop, a record in an FM file. things that are still playing my gray cells: 1. How do I use/apply the cdml tool and references 2. do I need a FM server 5.5 to do the job 3. how does the fm server, ISP, and the fm unlimited relate as a working mechanism. Hi garry, I set the web companion to tcp/ip port 80 and the pc is running over a network. I was reading the forum and might of found the problem. I uninstalled the fm server and the error message does not appear anymore. I have a question about views in the internet explorer. I want to hide some of the action buttons in the web view. How can I do this? thanks in advance. Jaime Law

I am using the trail version of fm 5.5 and I set it up with the web companion. when I open my database, an error message pops up. "filemaker cannot host a file because of a network error. Files marked as multiuser will not be available over the network. (10048)" I use win2k pro please help thank you
