  1. in the unpacked directory of the updater there is another directory called Files, in which there is a msp file (msp, not msi) by running that file directly, I was able to update. Weird. Even more weird, here is what filext.com says about msp: "The MSP file type is primarily associated with 'Paint' by Microsoft Corporation." I guess we shouldn't be wondering why it works when it works... at least not when it comes to Microsoft. thanks alex
  2. as downloaded from filemaker, it unpacks in a directory then it executes the setup.exe file
  3. hi,  on Windows 8.1, Filemaker 11.0.1 installed successfully, but when trying to update it to .2 or .3, I get a window that seem to be a manual to a command line (see attached)  I've tried compatibility mode, troubleshooter... no luck  any suggestions?  thanks alex
  4. any ideas? is this a normal behavior? maybe it is...-(
  5. hello, the short story: Filemaker 10 is crashing on Windows XP when viewing a record with a container field that has a previously inserted mp3 file. So i have created a test file with one table and a container field. When trying to insert an mp3 file, the file selector does not show the mp3 option, it only shows aif, au and wav files. i have to switch to showing all files to be able to insert the mp3 file. After insertion everything seems fine, the file shows QT controls and plays. If I close and reopen the test file, Filemaker just crashes. Any ideas, please? thanks alex
  6. hi I had the same problem with a desktop computer with dual screen. I solved it by updating the video driver. Hope this works for you too Alex
