Printing on two format (A4, A5)

Hello

I know that FileMaker 5.5 remember the printing option when you use some scripts (number of copy, ...)

My question is the next, does FileMaker remember the tray of the printer (HP 4100 for example?). In some case I would like to print on A4 tray and sometimes on A5 tray! Is it possible to automaticaly select the good tray with a ScriptMaker? if yes, how? have you tried?

I need to buy a new printer, but if FileMaker can't use it, I must change Database system......

I think this will be a problem no matter which printer or DB app you use.

There are only so many items which are "common" to all printers, so I suppose these are the only ones to "remember" in the script. All others fall under manual control.

If you're running Windows, there is probably a solution. It involves using WinBatch. WinBatch is a programming/scripting tool that includes RoboScripter which memorizes mouse clicks and key strokes. You could create a WinBatch utility to change the printer tray and fire it from your FM print script. www.wilsonware.com

You can also use FM Tools. This will allow you to define up to 5 printer configurations (including tray settings) and recall any of them in a script.

I use it to call 2 seperate printer configurations in the same script.
