dpccgf Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 How does one user, when accessing a record via IWP, know when the record is being edited by another individual? From my testing, it appears that two people can be in edit mode at the same time. Thanks in advance!
Anatoli Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 I know nothing about IWP. In Custom we have the -ModID, [FMP-CurrentRecordID], [FMP-CurrentModID] tags.
Vaughan Posted June 18, 2002 Posted June 18, 2002 You have hit upon the *major* interface difference between the FMP client and the web browser. The FMP client offers record locking to prevent such issues ocurring: the web is "stateless" and connot. I'm not suggesting that one is inherently better than the other. They both have advantages and limitations, and due consideration should be given to them.
