Newbies Lonna Posted May 27, 2017 Newbies Posted May 27, 2017 Yes, I said SIX (with Server 5.5). I've used it extensively and happily for 14 years, now converting to 16 (or should I use the "upgrade" word?). Any advice for tutorials? Something that translates - like: "6: file = 16: table". (If that's true) OR should I just start from the beginning as if I don't know anything about FMP components? -Lonna in Santa Cruz
Lee Smith Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 There are some white papers, here is one that gives you the idea of the steps. You need to first bring the .fp5 files up to the .fp7 files. I'll see if I can find a link and post that in a little bit. https://www.geistinteractive.com/checklist-moving-filemaker-code/ http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/10571/~/converting-older-filemaker-pro-files-to-the-.fmp12-file-format Lee
comment Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 I'd say you have a lot of catching up to do. I suggest you read the "Migration Foundations and Methodologies" white paper that explains the major differences between version 6 and 7. That's when the real revolution occurred - the rest are just upgrades, IMHO.

Starting over always give new approaches; and usually a better solution all in all.
