sfpx Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 I'm curious about this new feature. What I particularly want to know if the process requires an initial sync after the download of the new version .
Carsten Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 (edited) Yes ... in addition to this very complex answer :-) ... : I appreciate the new feature to distribute new versions in that way to the Users, but it would have been a "killer feature" if the existing data is imported in the new Version automatically! Has anyone an idea how to accomplish this ? Edited August 12, 2017 by Carsten
Ocean West Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 I believe it depends on how you generate the Link - if you choose "clone" or "full" file, I believe updated file of the chosen link.
Jesse Barnum Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 The answers you've already gotten are correct, just following up to add some detail: When you download a new database version, it will require an initial sync. If you're syncing with a full copy of the server file, this initial sync should be very quick, because it's only comparing changed records from the last 24 hours. If you're syncing with an empty clone, then it will need to re-import the records into the offline clone. MirrorSync remembers whether the original file (before the update) was with an empty clone or a full copy, and will repeat the same behavior (giving the user either an empty clone or full copy) as the previous file.
