Been way too long since last using FMPro.

I have a table of imported records. There is a unique identifier for most records, but many are missing the unique ID. I need to 'fill down' so to speak in the table because I only entered the first account number. The file is flat for now because it needs to be imported into a larger database. I know how to do this by creating accounts and raw data tables, but I only need to fill down for about 800 records and I'm golden. I recall there's a way to do this, but shameful that I've forgotten. Any helpers? thanks!

not the replace contents function, but a script that would find the field value, replace the contents of the next records with same descriptor, then encounter a new account # and fill the next set...

not the ctrl+' keys

Sorry, it's not clear to me what you need. Can you post a file? Or, give me an idea of what values you wish to have in the field? need more specific information.  Probably headed for a looping script.
