Newbies [email protected] Posted January 29, 2018 Newbies Posted January 29, 2018 Hello, Sometimes I just want to import data from production files to development files without deploying files to the production server. How can I do that by 360deploy? 1
Junior360Works Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 Hey, Deploy will always move the development file to the production server, followed by a record import to make the dev file your new production solution. If you just want to import records from one solution to another, I'd suggest just using the native FileMaker import function to accomplish this. There's not a manual way to trigger just the import process in Deploy. 1
Newbies ShaunB Posted March 20, 2019 Newbies Posted March 20, 2019 If you're saying that you would like a quick and easy way to get a current data set from Prod to Dev then I'm very much in favour. If you get a bug report and it's from new data then you have to open the Prod file(s) to see it and test on it. If you were able to keep relatively current data on the Dev side then you would be able to resolve issues with virtually live data before deploying changes and never have to touch the prod file(s).
bcooney Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 We set up a staging server. Copy over production and then migrate dev to the staging server.
