Recently upgraded from 12 to 16 but noticed file is still saving as 12.   Also noticed problem with displaying and counting records.   Now believe that I could not go from 12 to 16 but should have done something else, e.g. go to 14/15 first.   Can someone tell me what I should now do to put this right please?

Congratulations on the upgrade, your files will opened just fine in v16.

FileMaker wrote a new engine starting with v12. That engine is the same (with some great new stuff being added in each of the subsequent version). Version 16 is the newest is the best version of FileMaker ever.

And just to reinforce what Lee said, the files will have a .fmp12 suffix, as that is the latest file format, which is used in versions 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 (so far...)
